Oh =\Oh, that one kind of busts my theories on Mashburn.
Jane needed a million bucks, Mashburn might have paid his bail just for the hell of it, if they promised he may tag along. He'd get to hang out with Lisbon, too.
Instead, his name doesn't even enter the equation.
Of course, there's that bit where they must keep it contained since they're not sure Jane got Red John good, but... they could have used him for bail without letting him in on the details.
Then, with Jane able to raise that amount of money out of thin air they wouldn't really need it... but a recurring character is sweet, right?
Except... my musings were on Mashburn's affections, not Jane's and Lisbon's, and it's their call, not his. Jane only ever reached for Mashburn's money for fun that just happens to move the case along (the car and that ugly crash detail on the auction). Not out of real need.
So, not so busted.
I really wish they brought Mashburn in again, he was lovely.
On another topic, the grieving widow is exactly Red John's taste. The blind girl from earlier, "Roy Tagliaferro"'s lover? Nearly a copy, except that one's blond.
Odd that the child is negroid. Not dark enough for pure black, likely a mix, but with a blond, fair-skinned, blue-eyed mother? That would take a black guy for a father, and the man Jane shot was Caucasian. So, adopted I guess, unless there's a generation jump, a black grandparent (it happens).
Ohhhhhhh, his taste indeed. I wonder if the blind one was evil like that, or she was truly innocent and he enjoyed the anonimity.
OUCH!
I didn't know Carter wasn't Red John, honestly. It's just, there was that angle of doubt... but I was almost sure he was. The wife, and then the voice on the phone... the voice was a little different face to face, but I kind of put it to the man not playing. Cause that soft high voice, it's apparently fake.
If it wasn't Red John, though, then either he was on direct line with the real deal, or knew enough to answer Jane's questions right.
Damn. Here I was hoping Jane gets to pick a love interest, now that it's safe for him to do. He did like Kristina a lot, so he's not hopeless.
Or, alternatively, we're having a Memento case and Red John the person is dead, and now Jane's left hunting Red John the organization. Cause there is an organization.
Also, I do kind of remember from TV that Brenda from PR is with Red John too, but they only caught Van Pelt's fiance.
To be honest, I suspect all four on the list, and the only one I don't suspect is LaRoche himself, because he's so by the book. Wonder what it is in his safe, though.
Okay... need to get the rest of my sleep now.
